WHEN THE ANSWER ISN'T OBVIOUS

Diagnosis starts
with the story.

Mature palm problems often develop over long periods of time. One event compounds upon another: site conditions, maintenance decisions, installation history, environmental exposure and human activity may all contribute to what is visible today.

FIELD HISTORY

Reconstruct the timeline.

Pronalys looks beyond the current symptoms to understand how the palm arrived at its present condition.

TECHNICAL REVIEW

Correlate the evidence.

Site history, cultural conditions, environmental exposure, photographs and available laboratory work are considered together.

REMEDIAL DIRECTION

Determine what is worth doing.

The objective is not simply to name a problem—it is to identify a practical path toward better health, function and appearance when recovery remains realistic.

THE PALM DETECTIVE Reconstruct the events. Separate symptom from cause. George Nottingham · Pronalys
PEOPLE · PLACES · PALMS

Sometimes the work
is investigative.

Diagnosing a mature palm can require piecing together years of events from incomplete information.

George may interview people who have interacted with the palm and the site, review available lab work, investigate cultural and environmental history, and correlate that information with decades of direct observation. The purpose is to develop an accurate events-and-interactions timeline—not merely react to the symptom visible today.

WHY THE HISTORY MATTERS Understanding the path to the present condition helps determine how to correct it—and how to reduce the chance of the same condition immediately recurring.

THE EARLIER, THE BETTER

Don't wait for
the point of no return.

You see your palms every day. If one begins to look “off,” that is the time to ask why. Determining why a palm failed after it is dead does not bring the asset back.

Early remedial action is often more practical and less costly than attempting to recover a severely compromised specimen. Pronalys will also tell you when the evidence suggests that further expenditure is unlikely to be justified.

PRONALYS PRINCIPLE Do not spend money on a lost cause.

If we believe there is a realistic path forward, we will tell you. If we believe it is too late, we will tell you that too.

SEE SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT?

Let the Palm Detective
take a look.

Send four clear photographs and a brief explanation of what you are seeing. Early information gives Pronalys the best opportunity to determine whether a recoverable problem may be developing.
